A diminished cattle supply and a late season flush of feed have spurred a huge leap of almost $30 million in weaner sale revenue this year.
Analysis by Stock & Land reveals more than $100 million in cattle sales was recorded across 24 sales during January's southern weaner sale series.
Nine saleyards - from Wodonga in the north-east to Casterton in the far west - dispersed 61,843 cattle between January 5-21.
The buoyant sales mark the second consecutive year of year-on-year price gains, and the largest market leap.
