A smaller, mixed yarding at Yea attracted buyers from Gippsland, the Goulburn Valley and northern Victoria, with fewer locals at the rails.
Agents yarded 1712 steers, heifers, cows and cows and calves at the saleyards.
Steers sold to $3000 a head, while heifers fetched a top price of $2110.
Victorian Livestock and Property agent Will Phillips, Yea, said it was a "mixed yarding".
"[There were] all sorts of cattle [on offer] due to the dry conditions and following the weaner sales," he said.
