Cattle prices came off the boil at the Yea store sale on Friday as the local season sits on a knife-edge.

Nutrien, Elders, Victorian Livestock & Property (VLP), and Alex Scott & Staff livestock agents yarded approximately 2400 cattle at the Yea selling complex.

The sale drew a large crowd, with plenty of agents from across the state attending to support new agency VLP's first sale.

However, the big gallery did not drive on prices, with a slight dip across most classes of stock, in line with that seen at Leongatha and Euroa this week.
