Just one commission buyer active as grass fatteners drive Yea weaner sale

Grass fatteners and their agents dominated the market at Yea on Friday as weaner cattle prices gained momentum again.

Nutrien Yea livestock manager Tyson Bush said the market surpassed expectations.

"The steers made every bit of 600 cents a kilogram and more," Mr Bush said.

"The last couple of markets over the past few days this week made in the late 500c/kg range."
