'At least a dollar dearer': Yea cattle prices surge amid interstate interest

Cattle prices continued to climb at Yea with sizeable week-on-week lifts, including a surge in young heifer prices of up to 200 cents a kilogram.
Agents yarded 4100 head at the special autumn grown and weaner feature sale on Friday.
Victorian Livestock & Property auctioneer Jamie Quinlan said the market was extremely strong.
"That's down to absolutely nothing else but the rain everyone has had," Mr Quinlan said.
He said competition was strongest on the weaner cattle
