Farmers will no longer have to choose between a day at the yards and a visit to the doctor, following the launch of a community-funded mobile health clinic.
Spearheaded by Victorian Livestock & Property agent Andrew Embling, the $150,000 initiative targets the systemic gap in rural health access by bringing nurses and mental health professionals directly to the "office" of the Victorian livestock industry.
Mr Embling said the new facility, an adapted caravan, was "by the community, for the community".
He said he had seen first-hand the impact of isolation and limited access to health services for farmers, particularly those of an older generation.
