The Yea Saleyards Committee of Management warmly thanks Shane, Joel, Henry and Ben Creed for their outstanding service and dedication over more than 20 years combined at the Yea Saleyards.
As laneway supervisors, with Shane also serving as maintenance coordinator, the Creed family have been central to the safe and smooth operation of the yards during a time of enormous change and growth. The recent surge in cattle numbers saw their workload double, a challenge they managed alongside full-time roles as local farm managers.
Shane’s 17 years of service, from the days of overnight security to leading the team through continual improvements, have left a lasting legacy. Joel’s steady presence over the past six years, often working alongside his son Henry, has made him equally valued and respected. Shane’s son Ben, in more recent years, took over the welding role from Shane at the Yea Saleyards. He’ll be missed too, as he has recently embarked on an exciting career path. Together, they’ve ensured not only that cattle and people moved safely on sale days, but also that the yards were always well maintained and ready for the next busy sale day.
Their contribution went far beyond the practical. Their humour, teamwork and early morning enthusiasm made them a joy to work with and earned the respect of all who came through the yards.
While they now step away from their saleyard roles, their dedication to agriculture continues as they focus fully on their farm management positions at The Grange and Mandlay, Murrindindi.
On behalf of the Committee of Management, and all who’ve worked alongside them, we thank Shane, Joel, Henry and Ben for their years of service. You’ll be greatly missed, and we wish you all the best for the years ahead.
