Overwhelming northern support put a significant floor price in the Nutrien weaner sale market at Yea on Friday.

Agents estimated less than 10 per cent of the 3600-head yarding stayed in Victoria.

"Thank god for [commission buyer] Duncan Brown" and "thank god for the north" were the two resounding sentiments echoed around the yards by the local agents and vendors.

Mr Brown said he bought 1630 cattle and was sending them "all north of Dubbo, NSW".
