Queensland buyers the 'saviour' as heifers head north at Yea store sale

Heifers have gone as far north as Longreach, Qld, as commission buyers dominated the lanes at the latest Yea store cattle sale.


Elders and Nutrien agents yarded nearly 3000 head of steers, heifers and cows and calves at the Yea saleyards complex.


Steers sold to a high of $2570 a head, heifers went for a top of $1800 and cows and calves topped at $1800.


Commission buyer Duncan Brown, Albury, NSW, picked up several pens of heifers for Elders Longreach.
