Elders' first weaner sale for the year saw Euro steers and heifers of all breeds go under the hammer to a full gallery of buyers.

Agents yarded around 2900 Euro steers and heifers, as well as a large run of Angus heifers and some Hereford heifers as well.

Elders Delaney Livestock and Property auctioneer Anthony Delaney said the market was about 10 cents a kilogram above his expectations.

"The heifers were where I thought they'd be but those Euro cattle sold above my expectations," Mr Delaney said.

"It was just an outstanding run of cattle that really sold themselves.
