Yea & District Memorial Hospital is excited to launch MouthMap, a world-first screening program using innovative digital technology to improve access to oral cancer checks in rural communities. This initiative is made possible through a proud partnership with the Rotary Club of Yea, whose generous funding has enabled this initiative to be delivered locally.
What is MouthMap?
MouthMap uses high-quality medical photography to take detailed images of a person's mouth. These images are then reviewed by specialist doctors, allowing expert advice without the need to travel long distances.
Why does it matter?
Oral cancer cases are gradually increasing across Australia. Early detection is important and can lead to better treatment outcomes.
