Prices exceeded expectations by a "mile" at an Elders Yea feature autumn store sale on Wednesday.
Strong northern demand, particularly for younger and lighter stock, kept a solid floor and upped prices compared the last store sale, according to agents.
Elders agents yarded just over 4500 cattle at the Yea selling complex, with 1100 grown steers, 400 grown heifers, 1800 weaner steers and 1200 weaner heifers penned.
Elders auctioneer Ryan Sargeant said the sale, which included multiple feature drafts of grown cattle and spring-drop calves, was "extremely good".
