3400 cattle sold in just over an hour at Yea as prices lift for fresh weaners

Just over 3400 cattle were dispersed in an hour and a half at the first Elders Spring feature sale at Yea on Friday.

Around 1000 weaner cattle added fresh blood to the grown cattle penned with many large feature lines dominating the sale.

Prices lifted on the back of recent rain which has inspired confidence in Victorian grass fatteners, and demand for heavy cattle sought after by commission buyers.

The crowd at Yea was smaller, but the buyers lining the rails came eager to fill orders and paddocks alike.
